Frank as he was known was educated at Sydney High School. He gave his occupation as Labourer when he enlisted 13 April 1915 at Liverpool, and his next of kin his father Michael Kenniff of Cecil Park Liverpool.

Frank served in the 12th Light Horse Regiment A.I.F. He departed Sydney on the 'Runic' 9 August 1915 and arrived Gallipoli 13 November 1915.

He was wounded in action Beersheba 31 October 1917 but remained on duty.

Trooper Francis Claude (Frank) Kenniff died of Broncho Pneumonia at 14th Australian General Hospital, Port Said, Egypt 23 August 1918 age 32.
